Health & Social Care Students Brighten Lives at Dementia Café
Date: 03 October 2023
On 3 October 2023, our Level 2 Health & Social Care students extended a warm welcome to our local community as they participated in the first monthly Dementia Café event of the term. One of our Health & Social Care tutors, Valerie Romans, accompanied a group of students to Coulsdon Methodist Church, where they supported with enriching activities such as salsa dancing and providing general chat to a group of individuals with dementia.
This heartwarming event is a product of collaboration between our students and the esteemed Manju Shahul-Hemeed Foundation in partnership with Age UK Croydon Alzheimer's Society. The Dementia Café, a monthly event, is a beacon of joy, support, and connection for those it serves. The future looks brighter with these acts of kindness and community spirit.
If you're inspired to make a positive impact in your community by participating in events like the Dementia Café, then take the next step and apply for one of our Health & Social Care courses now.
