Smoking Policy

To safeguard the health and safety of all students, staff and visitors, smoking is strongly discouraged.

The College provides assistance in giving up smoking so please reach out to a member of staff for support information.

For those who do choose to smoke (including the use of vapes and electric cigarettes), smoking is restricted to the new designated smoking area.  This area is located beside the bicycle storage shelter adjacent to the car park.

While many people believe that cigarettes are biodegradable, the filters in almost all cigarettes are actually made of cellulose acetate, a type of plastic which is harmful to the environment.

Please be responsible and use the cigarette bins provided.  For those who choose to leave campus to smoke, please be aware of your own safety and those around you by avoiding unsafe practices such as standing in the roads or sitting on kerbs.

In addition, please be considerate of our local residents by using litter bins, avoiding large groups, being mindful of language and refraining from sitting on walls and blocking driveways.
