Success of JRC students at Crystal Palace
Date: 16 May 2024
Jesse, a John Ruskin College student, stood tall at the forefront of the Crystal Palace investors meeting on Wednesday, 14 February.
Although nervous, Jesse spoke and presented exceptionally well, earning words from the CEO saying, “he was nothing short of fantastic!”
Jesse passionately spoke about the great work that the Palace for Life mentors have done and the impact they had not only on him but on others. After capturing the attention of his listeners, Jesse was invited to hold more conversations while enjoying the match in the VIP box.
Jesse impacted participants and donors listening to give them a great idea of what future projects will look like. JRC is extremely proud of the work Jesse put in and look forward to many more success stories from Jesse in the future.
Following on from his fantastic work with the investors, Jesse and another JRC student Skye participated and made an appearance in April's Match of the Day on BBC 1.
The event focused on the running of interactive workshops to give the students insight as to what we do in the foundation. Crystal Palaces’ young people/ mentee's delivered reverse mentoring to the club football players.
Crystal Palace staff said, “The students of John Ruskin have been heavily involved in some of our Palace for Life community and media projects, and they have done an excellent job representing their college and themselves.”
Thank you to Jesse for his hard work and dedication; it was truly inspiring, and we do not doubt that he will be invited back for great opportunities in the future!
