Runway Training Visit
Date: 22 February 2024
On Thursday, 01 Feb 2024 we were visited by a selection of adult learners from Runway Training, as part of a new partnership between John Ruskin College and Runway.
Runway Training are a specialist provider of online Functional Skills and training for adults, who have also expanded to providing a variety of Apprenticeships, Traineeships, and entry level courses.
Speaking to Oliver Trailor, Managing Director, he spoke about the significance of the partnership, “At Runway, we offer Level 1 and 2 provision and then through the partnership today, we are bringing those learners onsite to John Ruskin College for an information, advice, and guidance session to inform them of the progression opportunities onto Levels 3, 4 and 5.”
The visit was structured with a presentation from David Rabjohns, Assistant Principal and Head of Curriculum, discussing the offerings available at our College. Learners were then taken on a tour of the facilities, which concluded with an opportunity for the learners to speak to staff members from our Careers and Curriculum teams.
Some of the learners also chose to complete application forms on the day, like Aneta, “I think it is great, it is informative, I did not even know about the courses I can do and be funded for. I would not have known about John Ruskin College without this link with Runway training.”
David Rabjohns, provided his comments on the “This is such a valuable collaboration with Runway Training, working together we can provide meaningful qualifications, skills and training that supports the career aims and pathways for adults in the local community.”
Adult education is as fundamental part of further education and the courses available at Runway and John Ruskin College are designed to help learners progress at work, retrain for a new career or learn a new skill.
We offer a range of evening, online and short courses timetabled to allow you to fit your studies around existing family or work commitments. Find out more by clicking here.
