Carol Hix

Hi, I’m Carol Hix and I joined John Ruskin College in December 2021.  Previously I was Head of Careers at a local Sixth Form College working with students to prepare them for their next steps and to ensure that they are aware of options and opportunities available.

I have considerable experience of the UCAS process and of guiding and advising students, parents, and carers on researching, preparing, and applying for university and have worked with universities to develop relationships, including hosting many universities at an annual UCAS Fair.  Additionally, I have worked with local, national and international employers to help advise and inform students, parents and carers of apprenticeship opportunities, accompanying groups of students to The National Apprenticeship Show and to employer events and hosting many employers at the College.

I am passionate about encouraging students to achieve their best possible career aims.
