JRC Celebrates Colleges Week

This week at John Ruskin College, we’ve been celebrating #CollegesWeek with the Association of Colleges. This week is a chance to celebrate and shout about all of the brilliant things that colleges do day in and day out to build communities and support individuals.

For the first year, the AoC has outlined a Colleges Week theme ‘Get in, go further.

GET IN

‘Get in’ focuses on the great things that happen in colleges every day. On Tuesday, we opened the doors to the Croydon community for our October Open Event. We welcomed school pupils and their families, as well as prospective Part-time students. Don’t miss out on our next Open Event, taking place on Saturday 20 November. Click here to book your place.

The modern Facilities at JRC are designed with our students’ futures in mind. Our Mac suites, newly-built Construction workshops and modern training salons are the perfect environments for our students to develop career skills. Our LRC is bright and airy, the perfect place to work on group projects or finish up coursework. Explore JRC’s facilities for yourself with our panoramic video tours.

Our packed Enrichment programme offers the JRC community a chance to relax, destress and take a break. For the sporty individuals, there’s the chance to get active with Badminton, Dance or Table Tennis! For students looking for something a little more relaxing, our Arts & Crafts and Gaming Club sessions are open to all.

Student Wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at JRC, and our online Wellbeing Hub is a central area for students to access the resources and advice they need.

GO FURTHER

We love chatting with our Students to find out what they’ve loved about JRC and their aspirations for the future. Many of our students progress onto prestigious universities to continue their studies, with others stepping right into the workplace. Read inspiring student stories here.

We provide our students with the foundations they need for an exciting career, through various employer activities throughout the year. From virtual and in-house talks to work experience and live briefs, our students get a taste for the sector and build the career skills they need. Explore our Careers Hub to meet the Careers Team and discover what’s in store at JRC.
