What have Childcare & Early Years students been up to?
We recently popped into our Childcare and Early Years lesson, where students were learning about the different development activities for children under 5.
Students were given the task of working in pairs to create an engaging and stimulating activity that focused on learning about colours, patterns and shapes.
Alex and Divine commented on the activity: “We chose to use Lego for our activity as it ticks all the boxes and also encourages children to play freely.”
Alex is completing his work placement at Fennies nursery and Divine is working at Little Pumpkin Nursery in Croydon.
Divine added: “I’ve really enjoyed working at Little Pumpkin, I’ve been able to turn theory into practice and the confidence I’ve gained from College has helped me to settle in.”
John Ruskin College offers a wide range of Childcare and Early Years courses including a T Level and apprenticeships. If you’re looking to upskill or retrain, our sister college, East Surrey College in Redhill, offers higher education options.
