AHT Southern Regional Competition finals at JRC

At John Ruskin College today we hosted the AHT (Association of Hairdressers and Therapists) Southern Regional Competition finals.

Students from Orbital South Colleges, College of Northwest London, West Suffolk and SB Hair and Beauty competed across the day with various challenges and heats to secure their position for the grand final, due to be hosted in Blackpool in May.

The competition was open to students enrolled on core programmes for Hairdressing, Barbering, Beauty Therapy or Media Hair & Make-up, Nail services at an accredited centre.

The day was filled with creative and innovative make-up looks and nail design, as well as some fantastic barbering and hairdressing.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony to celebrate all the students hard work and announce the winners for each heat.

Our students from East Surrey College and John Ruskin College won the following heats:

• Period Makeup
• Gender Transformation Makeup
• Face Painting
• Editorial Makeup

A big congratulations to all the students who took part across the day and good luck to the finalists from all colleges including our students from JRC - Tai, Racheal, Ebony and Vannessa and ESC - Ellie, Ava, Oaklan, Abbie, Izobel, Ispobel, Amy and Tori, heading off to Blackpool in May.
