OSC students and staff were recently recognised for their outstanding achievements at the Committee of South London Principals Best Student and Teacher Awards, held at the House of Lords.
The event brought together representatives from 40 colleges and adult education providers. Our nominated students and staff proudly accepted their awards during the ceremony. Guests also enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea with sandwiches, tea and a selection of sweet treats.

GCSE English student Abel and his teacher, Inga Clarke-Schirru, were among those honoured. Abel earned recognition for his exceptional commitment to learning. His excellent attendance, strong work ethic and positive attitude have helped him achieve success in his studies.
Inga received recognition for her outstanding teaching and dedication to student achievement. She delivers engaging, well-structured lessons and creates a calm, supportive classroom environment. Her approach helps students feel motivated, included and confident in achieving their goals.
Reflecting on the recognition received by OSC students and staff, Assistant Principal Debbie Ryle said the day served as “a powerful reminder of resilience and opportunity” and was “a reminder that education changes lives everyday”.
A huge congratulations to both Abel and Inga for their hard work and unwavering commitment to teaching and learning!
