Date: 11 February 2025
Tuesday 11th February marks Internet Safety Day 2025, a global event with 170 participating countries that aims to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for young people.
Each year the event takes on a theme that is reflective of the current concerns regarding online safety, this year’s is “Too good to be true? Keeping yourself and others safe from scams online”. The theming of this year’s event hopes to address the increasing threat of online scams and provide resources for you to best protect yourself from harm online.
With Generative AI tools online scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated and harder to spot, what are the main things to consider when conducting safe practice on the internet? The UK Safer Internet Centre hopes that awareness for how to spot potential scams can help prevent young people from falling victim to sharing their personal details with others online.
