Choose a Real course, leading to a Real career

John Ruskin College is a highly supportive, sixth form college, situated in South Croydon, easily accessible by bus, train and tram. Studying at John Ruskin College will change your life. We will introduce you to new ways of working, new experiences and above all introduce you to the career or profession of your choice.

You will have the opportunity with us to select either a Vocational Study programme offered at a wide range of levels, or take the Apprenticeship route in order to follow your chosen career path. Each study programme will involve your main course or courses, development of your English and Maths, Work Experience, as well as engagement in our exemplary Tutorial and Enrichment programme. There are also a wide selection of absorbing Enrichment activities to choose from, including sports, societies, clubs and the opportunity to become an active member of the Student Partnership Council and train as an ambassador for the College.

We have high quality industry standard facilities, including commercial Hair & Beauty Salons and Spa Training facilities; a Digital Media Suite; Photographic and Broadcasting Studio, a wonderful Art studio, a Hospital style facility as well as a simulated nursery. The College also has a competition standard Sports Hall and Fitness gym and well equipped Science labs, a state of the art Learning zone with discreet areas for one to one support and a one stop Student Services Lounge, which encompasses a common room for networking and recreation, making it a truly inclusive experience. A recent new development includes our Work Skills Academy which provides information, advice and guidance, primarily relating to Apprenticeship and Traineeship courses.


You can choose from an exciting range of vocational courses:

Business Management, Creative Industries which incorporates Art and Design, Graphic Design, Media, Film and TV and Photography;  Hair & Beauty and Spa TherapiesHealth, Care and Early Years, Science and Sports, as well as ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages) and Foundation Learning. The College is not just about achieving qualifications. We offer an extensive list of additional activities including The Duke of Edinburgh Award,  sports and various societies as well as the opportunity to become an active member of the Student Partnership Council or train as an Ambassador for the College. Social events, theatre visits, trips and cultural diversity days feature annually in the College calendar. At John Ruskin College we pride ourselves on our professional and friendly approach.   • Tram Line 3 runs from central Croydon via Gravel Hill to New Addington. Alight at Gravel Hill.
