The pass rate for Advanced level subjects is 91% with 12% achieving high grades. This is both pleasing and significant as this is our last year of ‘A’ level results for the college. John Ruskin College is now specialising solely in vocational education offering the highly reputable BTEC and NVQ qualifications. The achievement in our BTEC National courses this year was exemplary with students achieving 99% pass rate and 24% achieving the top award of triple distinctions, the equivalent of three high grades at A level.
Last year over 70% of our students progressed to university and this year seems destined to follow a similar pattern.
College Principal, Tim Eyton-Jones said ‘we are particularly proud of how well our students have achieved. This has been a very busy year with the college undergoing tremendous change in our quest to become an outstanding provider of vocational courses for local residents’.
