Best Learners Awards at John Ruskin College

John Ruskin College celebrated the achievements of its Best Learners during an inspiring awards ceremony on Monday, May 11, 2009.
A total of 13 learners received the Best Learner Award in celebration of their accomplishments during their time at John Ruskin College. These were students from each of the academies.
The Principal, Jennifer Sims, gave a warm welcome to all the guests and referred to the many successes that John Ruskin College had enjoyed in the past year. The ceremony then continued with the presentation of the certificates by John Murphy, the Executive Principal of Oasis Academy, Coulsdon, who also gave an inspiring, interesting and very uplifting speech at the end.
The enormity of the talent present in the room during the ceremony was confirmed with the amazing performances of the Gospel Trio made up of Tosin Oluwafemi, Lorraine Kamara and Nanye Osae-Asare and the soloist Marina Ivanova.
This was a wonderful, heart-warming event. Fabio Gomes, Best Learner from the Science academy will represent all John Ruskin College Best Learners at the South London Principal’s event at the House of Lords on 21st May.
