John Ruskin College Students Take Up the Challenge
24th June 2008
On the 18th of June 2008, 42 students took part in an initiative building exercise day at the World Challenge centre in Croydon by Addington Golf Course. The activities included scaling some 35 feet up some horizontal poles spaced 5 and half feet apart (whilst attached to a rope secured by another student), navigating between islands in a murky swamp using only two planks of wood and working with a team to retrieve a precious item placed in a seemingly, impossible position.
The World Challenge leaders were all great fun and contributed to the day’s events. Likewise, students thoroughly enjoyed the day and got a lot out of working with members of their course that they might not have had much to do with before. The college paid for the event and provided transport to the facility. The events lasted from 9-4pm and everyone left tired but happy at the end of the day. Well done to everyone who took part.
