John Ruskin College plays host to Jonathan Ross
29th August 2007
Friday night with Jonathan Ross? Not this time! In early September, the tables will turn for well-known chat show host, Jonathan Ross, when he will become guest on "Tuesday morning with John Ruskin College Students"!! The TV personality has bravely agreed to sit in the hot seat during a mock chat show to launch John Ruskin College’s exciting new A+ programme.
Media students will put Jonathan under the spotlight and will be filming the interview. This is a prime example of how the new A+ programme will bring learning alive through a variety of creative and complementary activities such as talks from high profile speakers, subject focused trips, outdoor activities, critical thinking and study techniques.
The A+ programme has been developed in order to enable students at John Ruskin College to achieve their full potential and equip them for academic and working life. There will be an increased emphasis on life after college through careers events, support for university applications as well as focussing on employability skills. Students will have sessions on CV writing, mock interviews with people from industry and work placements to help them decide on their future career path. These activities aim to develop the individual in order to give them an extra advantage when approaching employers or universities in future.
Jennifer Sims, College Principal said "I'm thrilled that Jonathan Ross is able to give up his time to launch this innovative programme. With his wealth of media experience he is sure to inspire our A level students embarking on this programme."
