Something special is happening at John Ruskin College. We have a new Principal, a new strategic vision and most importantly have gained 100% achievement in all our vocational qualifications last academic year. But we still want to be better. Why? The college’s current strategic vocational areas are Business and IT, Creative Arts, Health, Care and Early Years, Sport, Science as well as our Football Academy. ESOL, Skills for Life and Skills for Work courses have also been introduced this year.
New strategic vocational areas for 2010/11 will include Business, Financial and Legal Studies, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapies, Health, Care and Childcare. Complementing these vocational areas will be the following; Business Information, Communications Technology Systems, Creative Industries , Sports Studies, Biomedical Sciences, Horticultural Studies, Public Services (Emergency and Care Services), Counselling and Guidance.
