Students experienced a week of industry skills as part of the skills week at John Ruskin College. In total 114 external industry visitors attended the College to deliver 20 successful workshops, carry out mock interviews and to exhibit at the Higher Education Fair and Skills Fair. 17 Industry visits also took place to a wide variety of local companies as well as companies across London.
We have had amazing feedback from both students and employers.
One of the students said, “Skills Week provided us with an opportunity to polish up on skills such as communicating with other people and working in a team effectively”.
Principal and Chief Executive, Mohammed Ramzan, commented: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the employers, companies and the many visitors involved in contributing towards this event to make it a successful learning experience for our students, helping them to develop the vital employability skills they need for the future.”
As a specialist Vocational College, John Ruskin College prepares its students well for the world of work by organising an action packed Skills Week each year.
Every student has the opportunity to get involved. Activities include workshops, mock interviews, workplace visits and trips, as well as a Higher Education and Skills Fair.
