At John Ruskin College we believe that providing an attractive and professional working environment will help our learners to work productively and to enjoy their time at college.
The college is situated on a lovely green field site. The building is in the modernist style which means it was originally designed to be full of light. The college invests significant sums of money each year in improving our facilities for the benefit of our learners.
Technology is an essential part of any learning environment in our modern world and we are very much aware of this. Learners have access to excellent IT facilities and are always able to access a PC for their own use. We have a partnership with RM (a leading provider of ICT solutions to the education sector) and this ensures that we are up to date with the latest developments. Classrooms are equipped with Smartboards and our Learning Resources Centres can give help and advice on the best ways to access the resources learners need via the college intranet and on the internet.
We have a fantastic sports hall and a fitness gym which are used by learners on our sports courses and also by learners across the college as part of our enrichment programme.
Our science laboratories are some of the best you will see. The success of our vocational science courses together with these wonderful facilities has led to a huge increase in numbers applying for these courses.
Our learners tell us they regard the college as a very safe secure and friendly place where staff and learners from diverse backgrounds work together in harmony. We take pride in our lovely environment and work hard to maintain and improve it.
