Foundation Learning gives you a flexible and enjoyable approach to your studies. You can choose the path you want to follow and engage in a range of different activities and subject areas. Foundation Learning gives you a progression route for your future career path and gives you the skills, knowledge and readiness needed to succeed at Level 2 and above.
You will study the following on a Foundation Learning course:
- BTEC Certificate in Vocational Studies – Choose from 4 pathways to vocational success
- BTEC Certificate in Work Skills – Learn about the world of work; applying for jobs; writing a C.V.; completing application forms; interview skills; working as a team and much, much more
- Certificate in Functional Skills – An essential part of any course at John Ruskin College. Improve your English, Maths and ICT; gain confidence, achieve and progress
- BTEC Award in Personal and Social Development (PSD) – Improve your own learning, live a healthier life, stay safe, enjoy your learning and achieve your goals
- BTEC Award in Sustainability Skills (Entry level) – Get involved in community and environmental projects
- BTEC Award in Money Skills (Level 1) – Use money effectively, budget, plan and save in everyday situations and a vocational context
