The Business Technology, Legal & Financial Services department is a thriving and dynamic area of the college. The interesting and diverse curriculum, which includes finance and law pathways, business administration, IT website design, caters for learners of all abilities, providing excellent progression to high level qualifications, employment and prestigious universities. Work experience is integral to our offer and all learners have the opportunity for a two week placement in local companies. On the Extended Diploma learners set up small charity events to provide them with the experience of running their own small business.
The Department is very proud of being a part of the Career Academies UK. Within the department a selected number of learners are given a place in the academy to enhance their links with employers. The learners are offered business mentors, workplace visits, employer led seminars and internships at national and international blue chip companies in banking and commerce such as Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Lloyds banking group.
