Our dynamic Business courses have a focus in either financial services or legal services. These are amongst the largest employment sectors in the south east and offer fantastic careers for people who have the enthusiasm, skills and drive to become business leaders of the future. As the only high quality specialist provider of legal and financial services in the area, we are able to offer a level of support, guidance, instruction and experience to students that is the best. For example, our involvement in the UK Careers Academy ensures that students on our courses have access to current business professionals and some global financial companies for visits and extended periods of paid work experience.

- Foundation Learning Entry Level - Vocational Pathway in Business
- Foundation Learning level 1 - Vocational Pathway in Business
- BTEC level 2 Diploma in Business
Area of Study: A one year course which gives an introduction to business on line, finance, business administration and communication. It is a practical hands on course with work experience. - BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma Business and Finance
Area of Study: A two year course in business, covering topics such as marketing and business organisations, but as specialist topics you will study accounting, finance and financial services. You will have the opportunity to be selected for the Careers Academy. - BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma Business and Law
Area of Study: A two year course in business, covering topics such as marketing, finance, and business organisations as well as business law and criminal law in relation to business. You will have the opportunity to be selected for the Careers Academy.

Skills for Life / GCSE
John Ruskin College is a Skills for Life College. As a key part of your course you will be fully supported to enhance your English, Maths and ICT skills, leading towards a qualification where appropriate.
Learners on a L3 programme will be able to resit GCSE Maths, providing:
- They have a L2 Skills for Life qualification e.g. Functional Skills, Adult Numeracy, etc or;
- They have achieved a D in Maths in June 2012
Learners on a L3 programme will be able to resit GCSE English, providing:
- They have a L2 Skills for Life qualification e.g. Functional Skills, Adult Literacy, etc.
