- Foundation Learning Entry level - Vocational Pathway in Sports and Science
- Foundation Learning level 1 - Vocational Pathway in Sports and Science
- BTEC level 2 Diploma in Applied Science
Area of Study: A one year course designed to develop your knowledge and application of science to the world around us, including the fields of health & medicine as well as forensics. You will also improve your practical laboratory skills. - BTEC level 2 Diploma in Sport (with or without Coaching)
Area of Study: A one year course designed to develop your skills and knowledge in the areas of coaching and leadership, fitness instruction & the effect of exercise on the body as well as Sports business and development. You will also improve your practical sports skills. - BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science
Area of Study: A two year course designed to develop advanced knowledge and application of theory in the medicine, forensic, genetics and scientific research areas. You will also hone your advanced practical skills and have the opportunity to visit a variety of scientific sites. - BTEC level 3 Subsidiary Diploma/Extended Diploma in Sport
Area of Study: A one or two year course designed to develop advanced knowledge and application of theory in the sports business, support, coaching or fitness sectors. You will also improve your breadth of skills in nutrition, psychology, sports therapy and wider experiences of the active leisure sector such as climbing, surfing and kayaking. Exciting and rewarding work experience opportunities are also available. - BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Sports and Exercise Sciences NEW

Skills for Life / GCSE
John Ruskin College is a Skills for Life College. As a key part of your course you will be fully supported to enhance your English, Maths and ICT skills, leading towards a qualification where appropriate.
Learners on a L3 programme will be able to resit GCSE Maths, providing:
- They have a L2 Skills for Life qualification e.g. Functional Skills, Adult Numeracy, etc or;
- They have achieved a D in Maths in June 2012
Learners on a L3 programme will be able to resit GCSE English, providing:
- They have a L2 Skills for Life qualification e.g. Functional Skills, Adult Literacy, etc.
