What does the course involve?
- This is a work related qualification that will aid your development in care, helping you to gain knowledge and build skills required by employers in the Health & Social Care sector.
- In addition to classroom learning, you will undertake 60 hours of work placement during the course, in a range of Health & Social Care services, providing you with vocational experience.
- Coursework will provide an opportunity for you to explore interests in your placements and develop an understanding of care issues.
How is the course assessed?
This is an ideal course for you if you prefer coursework to exams. You will be assessed on the quality of your coursework and you will be awarded with an overall grade of pass, merit or distinction on the successful completion of all units at the end of this one year course.

What are the career opportunities open to me if I take this course?
You can progress to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care / Children’s Care, Learning and Development or alternatively to other courses that require the equivalent of 4 GCSEs.
