I have been Chair of Governors at John Ruskin College since 2009 and I am also Chair of the Finance and Personnel Committee. My role as a Corporate Governor member is to help provide strategic direction and monitor the colleges’ performance.
I have held executive positions in Croydon based businesses and also volunteered extensively within the borough. This experience has given me a strong understanding of local issues of which I put to good use.
Being a Governor at John Ruskin College allows me to use my experiences to make a positive difference. I firmly believe that paths to success do not only lie in a tradition academic environment. This is because our world is moving at an ever quickening pace. Now and in the future two out of every three jobs will require higher skills and better qualifications.
John Ruskin College’s local offer to Croydon residents is an establishment which will equip local people with the skills to face this challenge headon.
