Students and staff at John Ruskin College are currently celebrating a 100% pass rate for its Vocational Level 3 courses, with 70% achieving high grades.
Principal and Chief Executive. Mohammed Ramzan comments; “As a result of their wonderful achievements and development of their academic and technical skills whilst at the College, our students are ready to progress on to their next stage of their journey, whether it is university, employment or a Higher Apprenticeship. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of them every success on the next chapter of their lives and to thank all the staff for their hard work and the valuable support they have given to the students”
This is what some of our students say:
“Being part of the Childcare Department and carrying out my role as Lead Ambassador has allowed me to develop key leadership skills as well as preparing me for university life, ensuring I am organized and punctual.” Carly (pictured right) studied Children’s Care Learning and Development. She also achieved the accolade as Student of the year for 2017/18 and is intending to study Primary Education at Canterbury Christ Church University.
“During my time at John Ruskin College I studied level 3 Sport. My experience at the College was invaluable as I was also presented with the opportunity to become a College ambassador and student coach. This gave me the chance to improve on many employability skills such as communication, teamwork and initiative.” Kieran (pictured centre) studied Sport and is intending to study Exercise and Sports Sciences at Exeter University.
“Being part of the Sports Department as well as having the opportunity of being a Sports Coach has developed my confidence and leadership skills, which has enabled me to become more independent and prepare for the future.” Aaron (pictured left) studied Sport and is intending to study Sports Management at Kent University.
The College as a whole has once again achieved some highly prestigious accolades in the last academic year, walking away with two awards from the National Centre of Diversity Grand Awards in January 2018; the UK Resources Manager’s award which went to Michael Gainlall, who was our Chief Operating Officer as well as the College being placed among the top 100 organisations that the National Centre of Diversity works with, at the prestigious position of number 3. The College also recently achieved the Business Development Award at the SFCA Awards 2018.
