Becky Croucher, BTEC level 3 Sports student received a highly acclaimed Best Learner Award, which was presented at the ‘Best Learner ceremony’ by Lord Tope at The House of Lords on 25th May. This is an annual event which celebrates the achievements of students from South London Colleges.

Becky was nominated by her teachers and the Senior Management at The College for some of the following reasons: She has never missed a deadline and has consistently achieved distinctions across all units of her work. She is also set to exceed her target grades and will achieve Distinction*, Distinction*, Distinction* on completion of her course.

Alongside her academic achievements, she has played a significant part in cross college Sports Enrichment activities, as Head Student Coach for Sports; leading on female-only gym sessions, assisting with coaching the girls’ football team, helping with rugby and supporting the basketball team. She is also the photographer for Sports Enrichment.

Xavier Tinto, Student Activities and Sports Leader at the College has made the following comments about Becky,

“She is selfless with regards to giving up her time, always proactive and has been pivotal in boosting female participation in Sport”.

Becky has also proved to be an excellent ambassador in other areas of College life; taking the lead on one of the stands at the ‘Children in Need’ event, helping to raise a considerable amount of money, participating in the HE and Careers Fair, demonstrating excellent organisational and communicational skills in both assisting with setting up the fair and liaising with the exhibitors as well as her peers. During the induction period at the beginning of the academic year she also helped with the ‘Get Rich Fair’ encouraging learners to sign up for various enrichment activities within the College.

For her incredible commitment, she has also been nominated to receive an award for Outstanding Contribution at the College Awards Evening in June.

On completion of her course Becky will be progressing into full-time employment with ‘Kick London’.

Mohammed Ramzan, Principal and Chief Executive has made the following comment, “I am delighted for Becky and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate her on her academic achievement and thank her for her contribution to the College community. I wish her well in her future career with ‘ Kick London’.
